Our Story

THE STORY OF ION BATON ROUGE

In Summer 2016, The Scion Group acquired University House Baton Rouge. Not known to us at the time of the purchase was that the building, less than a year old, had major problems with leaks. These were soon revealed and caused severe hassle for residents and major cleanup costs. Our on-site team and vendors worked hard to take care of residents, by addressing building issues, relocating residents to other apartments and in some cases allowing residents to cancel their contracts and move elsewhere.

In 2018, Scion made the decision to conduct a complete overhaul of the property, closing it completely for the 2018-19 school year to allow for a full renovation without disrupting residents. Now, after more than $20 million of renovations, a new community will emerge for 2019-20.

But this effort is about more than just a fully dry and safe building. It’s a new beginning for a community, giving residents a place to come alive and not just a place to live. Of embracing the energy and spirit of the LSU campus and our prime location. And of our ongoing commitment to professional management that values every resident and honors their individuality.

We are excited to bring you Ion Baton Rouge. We’d love to tell you more about our story and encourage you to reach out to us with any questions. We look forward to welcoming you home.
